this blog got a bit of a make-over ~ but is still under construction. I basically suck in html as you can see below ;-) and/or blogger is not the most convenient tool for photographers i guess, so i plan to move soon. 2009 has been a pretty exciting year for me. Lot's of things were going in the right direction, i got fortunate to capture some fantastic weddings in a variety of stunning places. Fabulous brides and couples. Moments that i have seen. For me a good year is valued by the experiences you make, the people you meet and the friends and family you have. Thank you Shanghai for giving me endless inspiration and creative input and always welcoming me as a home at the other end of the world. Although our relationship is somewhat built on love and hate for many reasons i always try to see you in a positive light. Thank you Europe for making me grateful to be raised in a place that supports free spirited minds and values, for your good food (i love those mediterranean delights) and for making me realize where i want to be based for 2010. Thank you New York for making me fall in love with you again after such a long time we haven't seen each other, wandering through your streets still gives me that feeling of anything is possible. Thank you Nebraska for adding a totally new place to my adventures this year, definitly filled with plenty of nature and a very wonderful experience of hospitality. Megan's and Adam's Farm/Garden wedding has been definitly a highlight this year, thank you ever so much for being part of it. Thank you Dubai for your shimmering lights, fancy restaurants, beaches and sunsets. Haven't been much on a holiday or beach this year i definitly enjoyed that sandy feel. A big big thank to all those wonderful hosts and friends that i stayed with this year. It has been pretty crazy moving around that much, but you all gave me that wonderful feeling of home on the road. I can't thank you enough. Thank you Frankfurt Airport for always giving me that homy chill whenever i return and see your signs. You always have had some special magic to me. As a kid i remember getting super excited seeing all those fascinating destinations on your screens that made me smile and dream. Thank you "Apfelwein" and "Gruene Sosse" for making me realize how much i love you. Can't have enough of you and i recommend it to every friend that is visiting Frankfurt. Thank you friends & family for your love & support and always reminding me of who i am and being there for me. I am very glad to have you in my life. I could write on forever i guess. So 2009 you have been a pretty wild ride. i think i like you.

2010 i am super excited - so bring on some Rock n' Roll. I've got lots of plans to kick some asses ;-)

The fabulous Heidi Krenn.

I spent way too little time doing portraits recently. Moving around, catching up, postprocessing weddings has all been a bit time and thought consuming. But i am working on it. Currently screening a new home base/studio, re-evaluating incredible 2009 and making new plans and workflows for 2010.
When Heidi asked me to take some shots of her while i was in Shanghai this time i was happy. Not only is she an amazing jazz vocalist and beautiful person but we also became friends through various shared talks, events, thoughts, dinners & friends. Listening to her performing is a true delight for the ear, eye and soul, so i was hoping that i would be able to catch a little bit of that natural radiance of hers. Let me know what you think.

{ Candice & Tom } Shanghai 28.11.2009 ~ preview ~

Candice's and Tom's wedding was breathtaking in many ways. First i had to get up the 89th floor in the Shanghai World Financial Tower, which gave me some chills. Can't say i feel like a fish in the water when it comes to height and lifts, so i was holding my breath for those 10 seconds that takes the lift to bring you up there. Once realized that the ride was'nt that bad ( thanks to some fantastic engineering that makes the whole liftride seem like your are NOT moving incredibly high incredibly fast ), i was soon in awe about the stunning view, Park Hyatt's interior AND of course the wedding. I have to say shooting Candice &Tom and their family & friends up there was a truly uplifting and splendid experience, that i enjoyed so much that i absolutly forgot that i was some hundred meters above ground.

Bridal Flowers - a floral portrait.
Actually after seeing quite a lot of different and amazingly beautiful flower bouquets at weddings i decided to put some more research into this topic. Apparently there is a whole ABC of bridal flowers and choosing your matching bouquet seems to lead to one question "what color, shape, type goes with my personality, dress, theme, season, mood?" So stay tuned for some more insights, thoughts and images on bridal flowers that are "very you".
